If I am canceling tours for the day due to weather is this covered by Peek Protect?
Your cancellations are not covered by Peek Protect. For example, if you do not have enough staff and need to cancel a tour, you will need to refund customers, including Peek Protect customers. For more info please see, Peek Protect: I Have a Customer Reaching Out, What Do I Do Next?
Will all of our staff have access to the Peek Protect cancellations?
In regards to Peek Protect, this is a feature optionally chosen by your customers. It is their responsibility to initiate the cancellation VIA Spot (the cancellation insurance provider). This is outlined in their Peek Protect email (image example in this article). Spot handles their refund if applicable.
What happens to Peek Protect if I edit a customer's order or they reschedule?
If you decide to edit a customer's order that has Peek Protect on it, the protection will only apply to the original date. If the customer requests cancellation after the original date, but within 24 hours of the new date, they will still be denied a refund via Peek Protect. If you edit a customer's order and add additional products, Peek Protect will not recalculate and only the original products in the order will be protected.
Does Peek Protect cost operators more money?
Peek Protect is a way for your customers to pay an additional fee to be able to cancel and receive a full refund within 24 hours. This refund is done through spot will not be removed from your funds. The Peek Protect booking will still incur Peek commission and a credit card processing fee that will be removed from the total you are paid. However, if the customer cancels within 24 hours through Spot using their Peek Protect coverage, you will keep the revenue and Peek will cover the refund.
